West 40 RV Park

West 40 RV Park opened on June 1 with new guidelines to keep our guests safe.

Guests will notice some changes that may impact your stay, but they have been developed from the recommendations provided by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Department of Employment and Economic Development.

We will encourage campers to maintain guidelines for social distancing and COVID-19 prevention measures throughout the summer by:

  • Maintaining a distance of 6 feet from all individuals who are not from within your primary household.
  • Not congregating in groups of more than 10 people.
  • Reminding guests to wash hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds.
  • Asking guests to cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Having campers avoid sharing personal household items like dishes, towels, bedding, etc.
  • Increasing our cleaning and sanitation procedures.

Campers will notice the following changes at West 40 RV Park this summer.

In the office:

  • We have installed a barrier wall and sneeze/cough guards around our check-in desk area to protect our family and staff.
  • Only one (1) person per check-in will be allowed in the office at a time.
  • All guests will be asked to wear a face mask while in the office.
  • West 40 RV Park is a cash or check only business. Whenever possible, we ask our guests to pay in a way that does not require making change or giving cash back.
  • Firewood and ice will be for sale and will be placed outside the first garage door for customers to bring to their sites.
We have discontinued firewood/ice delivery until further notice.

In restroom areas:

  • We have posted reminder signs for proper hand washing in our sink areas.
  • All guests are asked to wear a face mask while using the restroom.
  • Our showers must remain closed to all customers until further notice.
  • We've increased the cleaning of our restroom facilities and use Clorox Disinfecting Bleach (EPA registration number 5813-111) which is on the EPA’s list of approved disinfectants for use against SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19.
  • Bathroom sanitation frequency has been increased.
  • Restrooms will be limited to one (1) person at a time.
  • Guests with access to fully self-contained RVs or campers (those which include bathroom and shower units) will be asked to not use the campground restrooms to limit traffic of those facilities.

In the park:

  • Our pavilion will not be available for group rental until further notice. However, if site G-3 is rented, use of the pavilion for the campers of that site only will be permitted to use it,but not for groupings of more than 10 people.
  • We ask all campers do their best to self-monitor the guidelines of social distancing by maintaining a distance of 6 feet from any individuals who are not members of your household.
  • All campfires are limited to the occupants of the site. Occupants of neighboring sites are not allowed to congregate or group at another campsite.
  • Group camping sites will  be restricted to no more than 10 people of the same household or family unit until further notice.

We understand that many families are looking for safe vacations during the COVID-19 outbreak and getting out into the wilderness is a natural way to make the most out of life. We believe that camping can be a safe experience when people continue practicing social distancing guidelines. We plan to do everything we can to make your vacation a good experience.

As guidelines for campgrounds are revised by the State of Minnesota, we will email our customers (click here to join our email list), post updates on our Facebook page and update our website with information that could impact your stay with us.
