  • Reservations for holiday and event weekends including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Crawl 4 the Cure and Labor Day weekends require 3-night minimum stay.
  • All other weekends of the season require a 2-night minimum stay.

Site Lock Guarantee
Purchasing Site Lock during the reservation booking process is always an optional choice for our customers. You do not need to include this feature when booking, however, note that we reserve the right to change the location of a site selected  if there is an operational need to move guests. On those rare occasions when we need to move a guest, we do our best to move the reservation to the most similar site available. (i.e. 30-amp drive-through with full hook-up to another 30-amp full hook-up site.)

We think of site lock as an insurance policy of sorts for our campers. Guests who purchase site lock will not be moved without compensation. If the exact campsite with site lock included in reservation is not available for any reason, we will refund 25% of the site rate for the duration of the stay and upgrade your site to a site with more/better amenities if one is available.

Maximum occupancy rules

All sites - group or individual - allow for up to four (4) adults 16 years old per site and older plus two drivable (non-ATV) vehicles per paid site is included in the campsite rate. Children 15 years old or under stay for free. Additional people over 16 will be charged $5 per person per day for all campsites.

Trailers and additional vehicles including cars, trucks and jeeps should be parked in the designated campground overflow parking to reduce congestion in the campground. Parking of vehicles in our overflow lot is free.

Two tents or one camper and one tent are allowed per standard site. Group sites have different allowances for number of tents or campers allowed per site as noted in the site comments section during the booking process.

No Outside Firewood

West Forty RV Park does not allow outside firewood from greater than a 50 mile radius of Gilbert. If you bring in wood to the campground, it must be certified by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture or the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and you need to have a receipt for its purchase from within 50 miles of Gilbert. Construction wood is prohibited as well due to the increased embers produced by this type of wood which increases the risk of damage to the surrounding area or other campers in the campground.

Firewood for Sale On-Site

Approved local firewood is available for purchase on-site in the office or in advance at the time of booking. Our wood bundles average approximately 45-60 minutes of burn time each and can be purchased at the office/store. We provide complimentary delivery of firewood to your site.

Guests can purchase firewood during regular office hours or they order firewood by placing a firewood order card in the office drop-box by 3 p.m. Orders will be charged to their campsite account and it will be delivered by 5 p.m.

We monitor DNR fire danger on a weekly basis. Generally, campfires within our campground are allowed when contained in the fire-rings we provide. We will update campers about any burning restrictions at the time of check-in.

Guests may not cut down trees under any circumstance. Wood/timber laying on the ground may, however, be harvested by guests and used in approved fire rings.

Alcohol and Drugs

Only guests of legal age may consume alcoholic beverages on West Forty RV Park property. Anyone who is reported to be causing a disturbance to other campers will receive one warning. If the behavior or noise continues to be an issue for campground guests, obviously intoxicated individuals will be asked to leave the campground without a refund. Illegal drugs are not allowed on property at any time. If an individual is caught by staff with illegal substances, local law enforcement will be called and will result in immediate eviction from the campground without refund.

Pets

West Forty RV Park loves pets and we are a dog-friendly campground. We believe that all dogs can be either well-mannered or aggressive at any time. The ultimate responsibility for pet behaviors falls on their owners. We encourage all to be aware of how their fur family members respond in a camping environment with many people and pets from different backgrounds.

Owners are required to pick up after your pet. We have a dog waste bag station located at our office. Please do your part to help us keep our campground clean and free of pet waste which can spread diseases to other pets or people. Pets must be leashed at all times when they are outdoors per Gilbert City ordinance. Complaints of excessive barking will result in one warning for the owners. Multiple complaints of excessive barking may result in being asked to leave the campground without refund.

We also know that some dogs can be aggressive around strangers. Aggressive breeds of dogs must be kept inside your camper/RV or accompanied by an adult at all times. Aggressive breeds are those with the following genetic lines: Mastiffs, Rottweilers, Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian Huskies, Doberman Pinschers, Akitas, Chow Chows, German Shepherds, Great Danes, Pit Bull Terriers, Bulldogs and Wolf-hybrids. Any reports of dog aggression towards people will result in eviction from the campground without a refund.

Automotive repairs not allowed on campsites

It isn't uncommon for guests exploring our off-road attractions to return with a vehicle that needs repairs. It can be unsafe for repairs to be done on the hillside that makes up the majority of our campground space. Additionally, spilling automotive fluids can be dangerous to future guests and are expensive to remediate. Do not make repairs to vehicles on campsites.

Repairs to vehicles will only be allowed in designated areas. Please inquire at the office for information on designated areas for this activity. The new overflow parking area set to open in late-2022 will include an emergency repair zone designed to improve guest safety. Spills of automotive fluids are considered illegal dumping of hazardous waste and are subject to a $25 fee per occurrence.

Quiet time

Quiet times will be enforced by the on-site park host.

  • Sunday through Thursday is 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
  • Fridays and Saturdays is midnight to 8 a.m.

Failure to honor quiet time may result in eviction from the campground without refund.

Campground security cameras

The campground property is monitored 24-hours a day by security cameras including, but not exclusive to, public areas outside restroom/shower buildings, campground office, trash/recycling building and the campground entrance. Information and data obtained by security cameras is owned and under the exclusive control of West Forty RV Park and may be transmitted to local law enforcement at the sole discretion of campground management.

No Pools or Hot-tubs

Personal pools, wading pools, inflatable hot tubs, or anything that uses more than 75 gallons of water is not allowed on West Forty RV Park property.

No unauthorized dumping

West Forty RV Park provides garbage disposal at no cost to campers for everyday trash. If illegal dumping is caught on camera and matched to a guest, their credit or debit card may be charged for this violation without prior approval. The following items are cannot be dumped on-site and may result in an illegal dumping charge of up to $25 per item.

  • TVs, computer monitors and towers, laptops or other electronics
  • Hazardous waste including, but not limited to engine oils, paint, household chemicals, automotive or RV/marine batteries and the like
  • Tires
  • Appliances, barbeque grills, fire pits or metal scrap
  • Mattresses, box springs, mattress toppers or mattress foam

Damages to campsites or campground property

We understand that mistakes happen and things sometimes  break. We do our best to help guests avoid damaging property or campers while visiting our campground. If something on your campsite breaks, please report it to us so we can make necessary repairs and keep the site safe for the next guest. When unreported damages are discovered by our staff after guests check out, we will charge the last guest to occupy the site to recover costs associated with damage up to $50 per item damaged. Missing water backflow prevention valves will be charged at $10 per occurrence. Campsites are inspected by our staff after each guest departs.
