West Forty RV Park and Campground
We are always doing something to improve our campground to bring you a better experience and service. Here are just a few things to think about as you plan for the 2026 season:
Reservations:
- We are happy to accept advance reservations for any date in our 2026 season from our past guests in advance of our general booking which opens January 2, 2026. We believe in giving preferential treatment to our returning guests and the best chance to lock in the best campsites before anyone else does. If you are a past customer from 2024 or later seasons, you can book for next year now by using our 2026 Reservation Request form.
- General reservations to the public open on our website on Friday, January 2. 2026.
- New discount structure - all long-term reservations now qualify for better discounts:
- 1-6 days -- full rate, electricity included in the rate (certain targeted promotional discounts may apply for qualified organizations; we do not accept Good Sam, AARP, AAA, millitary or any other big box discounts)
- 7-15 days -- 10% discount on rental rate, but electricty used will be charged upon checkout
- 16-29 days -- 20% discount on rental rate, but eiectricty used will be charged upon checkout
- 30 days or more -- a rate of $600 per month plus electric on any designated monthly/seasonal campsite. When all seasonal/monthly designated campsites are filled, we offer a 30% discount for your entire stay, but occasional moves from site to site may be neccessary. All stays of 30 days or more are tax exempt.
Campsite changes:
- Campsite G7 no longer available - to accommodate for our need to access our outdoor storage area behind Section C, we are reclaiming the road that makes up one of the camper pads of our current group site G7. The new campsite will be labeled C12 and will accommodate only one RV/Camper with a back-in, full water, sewer, electric hookup configuration. This site will be permanently changed from a group site with two pads to a single camper/RV site.(this site will be closed until May 18)
- Limited availability for group site G3 - this campsite will be undergoing construction for much of our 2026 season and will not be available for camping except on very limited weekends like Crawl 4 the Cure or Trail Jam. We wish we could tell you more about this project, but we know you're going to love it once our plans are fully announced. (May 1 - October 31)
- Improved group site G5/pavilion site - we've added water to both pads, reshaped the sites to improve grade/flatness and better approach for the lower/drive-through pad. Plus, as a bonus, our electrician will be adding more power outlets to the pavilion itself. (this site will be closed until June 1)
- All sites now have electricity - we've add 20-amp electric service to tent/small camper sites A12 and A13. We can now officially say that 100% of our campsites come with power! (project complete)
- Removal of picnic tables and fire pits from seasonal/monthly designated campsites: they say that less is more, and we have to agree that it's true in this case. We are removing picnic tables and fire pits from our seasonal campsites. This will allow us to replace many ageing tables with better ones and replace some of the small tire rim style fire rings in the B and C sections with larger ones. *seasonal guests will be able to rent above ground fire pits from the office for a small nightly fee and/or request a picnic table for their site at no cost. (starting May 1)
- More seasonal/monthly campsite capacity: as our requests for seasonal camping have increased, we have had to re-examine how many sites we dedicate to monthly use. Starting in the 2026 season, campsites B1-B9, B12-B15 and C7-C9 will all be seasonal/monthly designated campsites increasing our capacity for seasonal guests to more than 27% of our campground space, up from 19% just two years ago. (starting May 1)
- Improvements to Wi-Fi: we are working to improve our broadcast Wi-Fi signal infrastructure to support signals used for security cameras and our seasonal guests. (May 1- October 31 roll-out)
- Increased security: we will be adding two additional security cameras in the BSF Recovery Team Repair Zone area that will allow better visual coverage of the entrances to the restroom/shower building as well as sections B, C and D. (May 1- October 31 roll-out)
Rental Camper and Glamping Tent Updates:
- Our rental camper has moved - we moved the rental camper to campsite B6, to give us an additional 50-amp campsite to offer our seasonal guests. We will be building a deck to improve the outdoor space under the canopy of the camper. (this site will be closed until May 18)
- Our glamping tents are getting an upgrade! Both tents will include a pop-up outhouse with a portable flush toilet just steps away from the glamping tent, so guests don't need to walk all the way to the restroom building. (starting May 1)
Office / Clubhouse:
- Join us on the deck! Soon, we will have a deck area in front of our office space for all campers to enjoy and use the guest Wi-Fi, socialize, have an ice cream treat, or just enjoy the new public space. (May-June 2026)
- We will complete the renovation work in our new guest office space in 2025 which will include more retail, a place to sit and use our guest Wi-Fi, free coffee, a microwave and a pizza oven for all campground guests to use. (mid-May 2026)
- Our washer/dryer will be available for seasonal/monthly campground guests by appointment. (starting May 1)
- The Mesabi Massage studio is fully up and running for campground guests and neighboring towns. Any campground guest wanting a massage on the day of thier checkout qualifies for extended checkout for thier campsite at no cost. (massage studio open now)
- We will begin construction on our new campground clubhousewhich will be on the back side of our current office building in the space occupied by three of our garage stalls. Details are coming soon, but it will be designed as a space for all campers to relax and have a great time and will be truely unique from any other area campground. (May-July construction)
